This is the second part to my funky twin, Ness' piece "The End." Once
again set during the final few moments of "New Kid on the Block" we
both decided that there needed to be more of a Gavin/Tayler aspect [i
mean who didn't, right?] So here it is

Dedicated to Ness... cause she is so funky... and she tastes like
peppermint!

The Beginning
~~~~

'Hey Gav...' Tayler dashed after Gavin as everyone left the bottom of
the stairs.
'Yep?' He spun around to see Tayler.
'Your speech... it was great, really nice.' He nodded and pursed his
lips.
'I'm really going to miss you, y'know?'
'I'll miss you too Gav.' Tears brimmed in Tayler's eyes.
They stood looking at each other for what seemed like forever before
Tayler moved to throw her arms around his neck once again. He held her
waist tightly. Pulling away for a few moments.
'Can we go somewhere and talk... please?' she asked. He nodded without
letting go of her waist.
'Now?' Without answering she simply grabbed his hand and pulled him
outside.
Neither of them spoke until they reached the water. As the both sat
down on the garden bench Tayler burst into tears burying her face in
her hands.
Both sat silently, knowing what to say, but not *how* to say it. Gavin
looked over at her crying quietly. Finally she looked up.
'Am I doing the right thing Gav?'
'What do you mean?'
'I don't know that I *really* want to leave everyone and...' she looked
over at him.
'And?'
'You...'
'Me?' She nodded.
'You said before "we're not only loosing a great copper, but a great
friend, in more ways than one" does that mean?'
'Tayler, you know how I feel about you.' Silence filled the air once
again.
'Gav, that's the problem, *I* broke it off. And there was a reason for
that too.'
'I know, but we're not working together now. Can we, you know?'
Tayler looked up squinting out at the water.
'I dunno Gav.' She looked at him and bit her bottom lip. She began to
wipe the tears from her eyes. 'How do we know that it's going to
work?'
'We don't, but there's nothing wrong with not knowing Tayler.'
'Yeah I know, but...'
'But what?'
'How do I know that you...'
'I wanna be with you Tayler.' Cutting her off he reached out and took
her hands.
'And I with you' She leant over and kissed him.
'Really?' She nodded.
'Promise.' She said and went to kiss him again.
'Tayler, Sykes!' Helen's voice came from the door. 'You may be
leaving, but you are still on duty.'
'Coming!' Tayler stood up and pulled Gavin with her. Placing his arm
around her waist they walked up to Helen.
'Oh Gee Tayler, I really think you'd have more taste than Gavin.' Emma
walked past them snickering giving Gavin a little shove.
'Oh yeah?' He turned around challenge her.
'Yeah, I mean, really? Syksie!' Tayler raised her eyebrows and looked
at them both.
'Ahh, bite me!' Laughed Gavin. Grinning he looked at Tayler and kissed
her on the cheek.
'Ahem!' They heard Helen again who was still standing at the door.
'Inside, please?'
'Sorry,' they mumbled and Gavin grabbed her hand and pulled her up the
stairs.
